A technique for each face
The choice of technique depends on the type and degree of ageing, anatomical features and patient goals. Dr. García Ceballos performs all current facelift variants:
Cervicofacial lift
Comprehensive lift of face and neck. Treats jowls, mid-cheek laxity, nasolabial folds and cervical bands. The most established technique with consistent long-term results.
Deep Plane facelift
Releases the deeper retaining ligaments of the mid-face and repositions the entire SMAS-platysma complex as a single unit. Produces the most natural mid-face rejuvenation and excellent long-term durability.
Posterior-access cervical lift
Deep cervical lift performed via a posterior access route, avoiding visible anterior neck scars. Particularly indicated for patients with prominent platysmal bands and a strict request for invisible scars.
Mini-lift
Limited dissection facelift for early signs of facial ageing. Faster recovery and discreet improvement of the lower third of the face. Suitable for patients in their 40s and early 50s.
Brow lift
Lifts the forehead and eyebrows, opening up the upper face. Can be combined with upper blepharoplasty when indicated.
Upper-lip lift
Reduces the distance between nose and upper lip, restoring youthful proportions. A subtle but very effective procedure for ageing or congenitally long upper lips.
Facelift is frequently combined with eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), brow lift, lip lift or facial fat transfer in a single surgery. This optimises recovery and produces a comprehensive, harmonious result.
Week by week after facelift surgery
Facelift recovery is less painful than commonly assumed but does require time for swelling and bruising to subside. Most patients prefer to stay indoors for the first 10–14 days.

Rest with compression dressing
Hospital discharge on day 1. Compression dressing for the first 48–72 hours. Mild discomfort controlled by oral analgesia. Cold compresses recommended.

Sutures removed
Sutures are removed around day 7–10. Bruising fades. Patient can be seen by close family/friends but typically not yet in social settings.

Return to social life
Most swelling has resolved. Make-up can cover residual discoloration. International patients usually return home around day 14.

Gradual return to full physical activity. Sun protection on scars maintained.

Final result
Scars continue to mature. The facial contour fully settles by 3–6 months. The result is durable for 10–15 years depending on technique and individual factors.
