01 - What is rhinoplasty

The most challenging facial surgery, performed by an expert

Rhinoplasty reshapes the nose’s form, proportions, or respiratory function. It is one of the most technically complex procedures in plastic surgery: a single millimeter can change the outcome. The surgeon’s experience is therefore crucial. Dr. García Ceballos has performed more than 2,000 rhinoplasties and is the creator of the Duvet technique, which is patented and exclusive to Mallorca Medical Group.

Unlike non-permanent treatments, rhinoplasty offers a permanent and harmonious result. The goal is not "a smaller nose," but rather a natural, balanced nose that does not give away the fact that surgery was performed.

Typical candidates

Patients aged 17–18 and older (once facial growth is complete), with a dorsal hump, deviation, a drooping or bulbous tip, asymmetries, or respiratory obstruction. You must be in good overall health, a non-smoker, and have realistic expectations. Find out in 2 minutes. You can access the rhinoplasty eligibility assessment here

02 — Rhinoplasty Techniques

A technique for every nose

Dr. García Ceballos evaluates each case individually using 3D nasal simulation to determine the most appropriate technique based on the patient’s nasal anatomy, skin quality, and goals.

Revision Rhinoplasty

Corrects suboptimal results from a previous nasal surgery. Technically more complex due to scar tissue and possible structural defects. Requires the highest level of expertise.

Functional septorhinoplasty

It combines cosmetic correction with septal surgery when there is a respiratory obstruction. A single procedure addresses both form and function. The functional component may be partially covered by some private insurers.

Rinoplastia ultrasónica

It uses piezoelectric instruments that sculpt the nasal bones with submillimeter precision, reducing tissue trauma, inflammation, and postoperative bruising.

3D simulation included

The initial consultation (€40) includes a 3D nasal simulation: we’ll explore the possibilities together (bridge, tip, projection, rotation). The simulation helps clarify goals and facilitates communication between the surgeon and the patient, although it does not guarantee an exact result.

03 — Recovery

Week by Week: What to Expect After Rhinoplasty

Recovery from rhinoplasty is generally well tolerated: patients describe a sensation of nasal congestion rather than pain. The final result gradually stabilizes over the course of 12 months, due to the slow healing of the soft tissues of the nose.

  • D1-2

    Rest with nasal splint

Relative rest with the head elevated. Mild discomfort and nasal congestion. The external splint protects the structure. Oral pain medication effectively controls the symptoms.

  • D7-10

    Removal of the splint

The nasal splint is removed. Visible swelling persists, especially at the tip of the nose. Moderate social activities resume. International patients are cleared to return home.

  • S3-4

    The inflammation subsides

Inflammation is significantly reduced. Return to non-physical work. Restrictions on strenuous activity and contact sports remain in place.

  • S6-8

    Back to Sports

Gradual return to physical activity and sports. The nasal profile becomes more refined.

  • M3-12

    Final result

80% of the results are visible after 3 months. The definition of the tip is fully achieved over the course of 12 months, at which point the final results are established.
