Breast Asymmetry

Breast asymmetry is the difference that could exist between one breast and another (unequal breasts= It can occur as a congenital condition (such as tuberous or tubular breasts), as a result of previous surgery or as a result of pregnancy and lactation.

Most patients report a loss of confidence and even discomfort when wearing or buying the bra.

The Intervention

There are several surgical options available to restore more symmetry between your breasts.

Dr Garcia Ceballos uses several techniques to try to accommodate both breasts in a situation of greater symmetry in terms of volume and shape:

  • fat transfer
  • polyurethane or silicone-coated breast implants, expanders
  • or the remodeling of your breast tissue by molding it.

On many occasions he combines these techniques to obtain the best result.

Asymmetrical breasts can be corrected in a single operation.

During your consultation, Dr. Garcia Ceballos will most likely present you with several treatment options and will help you reach the best possible conclusion regarding the procedure. Sometimes it is necessary to make a second consultation to solve your doubts about the different options and thus reach a consensus decision with the Doctor.

Our breast asimmetry surgery incorporates a treatment for scars during the intervention using growth factors.
We also offer the possibility of applying a laser treatment to the scars one week and one month after the intervention.

The combination of these two treatments improves the quality and healing time of scars.

We carry out this intervention in Palma de Mallorca.

The price of the intervention is delivered after consulting with Dr. García Ceballos.

During the consultation you will be able to see before and after photos of cases similar to yours.

If you travel or consult us from anywhere in Spain, UK or Europe you can request your telematic consultation via Skype.

It is convenient to put yourself in the hands of a specialist in Plastic cosmetic and reconstructive surgery to carry out this type of intervention.

Frequently asked questions

In the past, injectable techniques have been used to correct volume asymmetries in breast surgery that have been discarded due to the side effects they caused. Breast asymmetries are corrected with surgery, including fat grafting.

If you have asymmetrical breasts, it is possible to correct them through implants, but they could also be corrected through other techniques such as lipografting or reduction and/or elevation surgery.

There are different types of procedures to correct the symmetry of the breasts: lipofilling, mastopexy, reduction and incorporation of implants are procedures that are used either alone or in combination to correct the symmetry of the breasts.

It should be said that all women have some type of breast asymmetry. The asymmetry can be very slight and practically unnoticeable, or it can be very noticeable. In the case of a notable asymmetry, it can lead to both problems when dressing, due to lack of fit of the bra, as well as an alteration of self-esteem.
In other cases the patient does well. From a functional point of view, there is no problem due to having asymmetrical breasts.

Yes, breast asymmetry can be corrected without correcting the nipple or areola. For this, it is necessary to assess the degree of perception of each patient and the degree of asymmetry suffered by the patient.

The growth of the breasts can be altered during their formation. This may result in some difference in the height of the areolas. Sometimes there are diseases that can cause this type of asymmetry such as Poland syndrome, breast cancer or acquired alterations.

Moms can grow asymmetrically, this being normal. Even so, there are some congenital and acquired disorders that can cause asymmetric growth of the breasts.

The nipple in normal conditions can take on different aspects and this does not mean that it is abnormal. Even so, there are some alterations of the nipple caused by diseases, some of which should be investigated when making an assessment of the shape of the nipple.

The nipple areola should not be in a specific way. There are many shapes and textures of areolas. Even so, aesthetic standards speak of an areola of about 3.5 cm in diameter as the ideal one. This does not really have much relevance since it always depends on the breast volume. The proportion between breast volume and areolar diameter is very important for a harmonic result to appear.

The price of a breast asymmetry correction can vary between €3,000 and €15,000 depending on the type of asymmetry.
